Port Blair, April 20: There was an interruption in power supply on April 19 and in the day hours of April 20, 2023 in some area of the city. The power interruption occurred due to damage of main Tie Lines 33 KV underground cables connecting two major Power Houses viz. Chatham Power House and Phoenix Bay Power House. On inspection, it was found that the cable had got damaged due to drilling works carried out by the firm M/s. Ratna Fibers Limited for laying of CCTV Camera under Smart City Project.

Port Blair, April 20: The Transport Department, A&N Administration has been consistently taking many pro-active steps to ensure safety of road users in the UT of A&N Islands by spreading awareness on road safety. As part of this vision and in order to extend the road safety awareness to the rural and sub-urban areas, the Transport Department conducted a day long road safety awareness camp today in the Community Hall, Chouldari and provided various services of Transport Department under ‘Prashasan Aapke Dwaar’. Shri Vishwendra, Secretary (Transport) was the chief guest.

Port Blair, April 20: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has sanctioned Rs. 20,00,000 (Twenty Lakhs rupees) for construction of a Multipurpose Hall at Shantanu Village, Ward Number 03 of Uttara Gram Panchayat, Kadamtala, Middle Andaman for community utilization.

Port Blair, April 20: The Secretary (IT), A&N Administration, Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS in a simple function has soft launched the additional 21 G2C (Government to Citizen) services (https://edistrict.andaman.gov.in) for end-to-end online solution of Revenue Department today in the presence of Special Secretary (IT), Executive Officer (SOVTECH), Tehsildar (Port Blair) and representatives of DIT and System Integrator. With these 21 services, a total of 96 services have so far been rolled out.
